The last several months have had some notable developments and achievements on our coalition’s work to strengthen the effectiveness and accountability of U.S. foreign assistance. With 2024 more than halfway complete, we're excited to highlight and share MFAN victories and recent activities these past months.
Following last September’s relaunch of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Effective Foreign Assistance under the leadership of Co-Chairs, Reps. Young Kim (R-CA) and Adam Smith (D-WA), we’ve partnered with the Caucus to host two congressional staff briefings on Capitol Hill. These briefings covered aid effectiveness priorities such as strengthening accountability and transparency as well as discussions surrounding the DFC's mandate and the reauthorization of the Better Utilization of Investments Leading to Development (BUILD) Act; the latter of which MFAN released a set of comprehensive policy recommendations on.
