Christy Gleason grew up with a passion for politics and public service. From the age of 12, when she volunteered for her first campaign and joined her first protest, she was hooked. She has spent the past twenty years working in government and politics to connect people to the policy making process.
Before joining Save the Children Action Network as Executive Director, Christy served as strategist and policy advisor to Senator Chris Coons (D-DE). She advised him policy issues including global health, housing, foreign policy, equity, education, appropriations, and ethics. She also worked to connect Delaware voices to the legislative process, serving as a liaison to diaspora communities, non-profits, faith communities, and others.
Christy brings extensive experience in electoral politics, having managed several electoral campaigns on the federal, state wide and state legislative levels. She also served as program director for the Center for American Women and Politics.
Christy earned her B.A. in political science with a minor in international relations from American University in 1993, and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1998. Christy lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with her husband and their precocious six-year old son.
