Update: Caucus for Effective Foreign Assistance

A few weeks ago, Reps. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) and Adam Smith (D-WA) launched the Congressional Caucus for Effective Foreign Assistance (CCEFA) with a packed event on Capitol Hill. In the days since, the Caucus has put out an overview document laying out its mission and topics for the roundtable event series. In the overview, the Caucus outlines five areas of focus, including: the Strategic Importance of Effective Foreign Assistance; the Importance of Foreign Assistance Reform; What Currently Works in Development; the Aid Model for the 21st Century; and Best and Worst Practices in Foreign Aid.

As the Caucus grows, MFAN will be profiling new members who join. As of June 7, the Caucus has seven members, aside from the Co-Chairs:

  • The Honorable Dennis Ross (FL)
  • The Honorable Laura Richardson (CA)
  • The Honorable Lynn Woolsey (CA)
  • The Honorable David Wu (OR)
  • The Honorable Denny Rehlberg (MT)
  • The Honorable Aaron Shock (IL)
  • The Honorable Keith Ellison (MN)
